Jason
began his career focused on graphic design and illustration, thinking
he might become a book designer or maybe an animator. Instead, he ended
up taking an internship on a whim that would change the course of his
career. He found himself in Ames, Iowa using his design skills to create
interactive experiences for a wide range of diverse applications at
a company called Engineering Animation Inc. (EAI).
In the end, EAI’s Interactive Division probably fell victim to a case of over-diversification, but their loss was Jason’s gain. In his time there, he was able to work on a wide range of products - from Elsevier Publishing’s Encyclopedia of Neurscience on CD-Rom to art directing the Dukes of Hazzard: Racing for Home game demo that appeared at E3 in 1999.
Over the last fifteen years, Jason has continued to work in a variety of capacities on a wide range of technology products... from video games to Web sites to PC applications to small-screen devices and mobile phones. He has practical experience in all aspects of user interface design from user research to information design, visual design, prototyping, and technical implementation.
Learning about new technologies and figuring out how they influence design and help the user get things done is what keeps Jason excited about going to work every day.
